Things to know before securing your child’s seat…

Our fleet primarily includes Ford Transit 350 passenger vans and Chrysler Voyager/Pacifica vehicles. We chose these for safety and ease of entry for younger riders. To maintain a calm and familiar environment, we limit larger vehicles to no more than 10 passengers. All vehicles are white and clearly marked with our Ride On Time logo.

Drivers undergo eight background checks, including motor vehicle record checks across the DMV region and West Virginia, as well as sex offender registry screening. We only hire drivers with clean driving records. All drivers also complete annual defensive driving training.

Families receive a pickup window rather than a fixed minute to allow for traffic and routing flexibility. Drivers follow the same route each day to maintain consistency for riders. Once fully enrolled in service, families also receive access to our minute to minute GPS tracking software which allows you to know in live time where your riders are.

We intentionally operate small-group routes to maintain safety, familiarity, and driver oversight. Most routes include 6–10 riders depending on vehicle type and route efficiency. During the first week of each new school year, there will be an aid riding along on the routes to ensure riders are safe and fall into a routine and are exhibiting safe behavior.

Door-to-door pricing includes homes within 15 miles of your child’s school. Homes beyond that radius are subject to a $45 monthly distance fee.

We also offer central pick-up options in select areas. For Brunswick and Point of Rocks, possible central pick-up locations are being considered at the standard central pick-up rate, with no extra distance fee. Final locations will be confirmed in early July based on enrollment.

Ride On Time is not a taxi or on-demand transportation service. All riders must be registered in advance and enrolled in a monthly subscription. This structure allows us to maintain consistent routes, ensure driver familiarity with each child, and uphold safety and liability standards. We work directly with the school administrations for the school communities we serve. We do not offer same-day bookings or drop-in rides.
